Military Personnel Flight
It’s the mission of the Military Personnel Flight to provide quality personnel support. They cover everything from ID cards to base in-processing, assignments, reenlistments, and retirements for all Airmen and their families. Additionally, they are the one-stop source for evaluations, promotions, testing, awards, and decorations, or other special actions.
The MPF also handle the distribution of CAC cards. In order to obtain one, appointments are made by phone or digital sign-ups. However, they understand it’s possible that there are no available appointments for you to sign up for before your ID expires. Therefore, for those in a time crunch, there are special walk-in hours.

Exemption Vignette
Exemption Vignette
DOD Military members and family members do not require a visa upon entry or for their duration of time in the United Kingdom. The exemption vignette which acts as a Visa allows dependents (spouses and children under 21 years of age) of military members to reside in country for the duration of their sponsors’ tour. It is encouraged as it can assist with off base employment, UK schooling, renting UK property, UK Entry, etc. The vignette is free and will be placed in the no-fee passport or foreign passport. This document is not required but is high recommended for foreign dependents.
Newborn Package
Newborn Package Checklist (CRBA, Tourist, SSN)
- One appointment is required for a Consular Report Birth Abroad, Tourist Passport, and Social Security Cards for newborns.
- All babies born OCONUS are required to obtain a CRBA prior to departure from the U.K. as it needed to obtain U.S. citizenship and for a Tourist passport and SSN.
- It required for all eligible dependents to obtain a no-fee passport while residing overseas.
- Once the initial the CRBA, Tourist Passport have been received by the family members may apply for No-Fee passport.
NOTE: We highly encourage parents to apply for a tourist and no-fee passport for their newborn, they must be command sponsored and enrolled in DEERS to apply for a no-fee passport. Also, both parents and the baby must be present during the appointment.
No-Fee Passport
No-Fee Passports Checklist (Initial/Renewal)
No-fee passports are not to be used for leisure travel; they are for official travel only.
According to the Foreign Clearance Guide Eligible Family members (U.S. Citizens) are required to obtain a No-Fee passport prior to departure to the United Kingdom. The no-fee passport can only be obtained if dependents are on orders or command sponsored and are stationed overseas. This passport CANNOT be used for leisure travel. It can only be used when entering the country, the member is stationed. If the member requires an exemption vignette, it will also be placed in the no-fee passport. Eligible family members and DOD military members do not require a visa for country entrance. All members are required to always travel with their PCS Orders, NATO Orders, and military ID.
Passport and visa requirements may vary for non-US citizens and for dual nationals traveling on non-US passports. Such travelers should check with the nearest host nation embassy or consulate to determine what credentials are required for entry.
Official Passport
Official Passport Checklist (Initial/Renewal)
The official passport can only be obtained if a member is traveling to a country that requires the official passport and/or visa upon entry, based on the foreign clearance guide. This passport CANNOT be used for leisure travel. It can only be used for official travel purposes (deployments, TDY, etc.). This passport is FREE of charge and paid for by the DOD U.S. Government.
For the Special Issuance Agency here at RAF Mildenhall to process Official Passport members must adhere to the checklist. The members requesting a Special Issuance passport must present their Orders (CED/TDY/VOCO) when normal conditions exist for entry into the country. When orders are unavailable customers/units may request official passports using one of the three waiver options. Under normal conditions, passports can normally be processed within six to eight weeks.
Tourist Passport
Tourist Passport Checklist (Initial/Renewal)
Military members must obtain a tourist passport for leisure travel to other countries.
Command-sponsored family members (U.S. citizens) are highly encouraged to have both tourist and no-fee passports while residing in the United Kingdom. Travelers planning to perform unofficial (personal) travel during or in conjunction with their official overseas assignments, should obtain (at their own expense) a Regular (Tourist) Passport prior to departure from CONUS. If members are unable to obtain a tourist passport prior to their PCS from CONUS or OCONUS they may obtain a tourist passport at the RAF Mildenhall Passport location. At this time Tourist passports are limited to 0830-0930.

Tourist Passport and other fees are as follows:
- Tourist Passport Adult (Age 16 and older; first or replacement passport if lost or mutilated) $165
- Tourist Passport Adult (Renewal) $130
- Tourist Passport Minors (under age 16) $135
- Consular Report of Birth Abroad $100
We only accept money orders; no cash, credit cards or personal checks. Locations for money orders are at the USPS, Community Bank, Kessler Credit Union.
Emergency Passports
Emergency if you are in need of an emergency passport please contact the U.K. Embassy.
If you are due to PCS and have not received a CRBA, please schedule an appointment with the Embassy 2 Weeks prior to departure.

Non-US Citizens and Dual Nationals
Non-US citizens and dual nationals with non-US passports
Non-US citizens are not required and are unable to obtain a U.S. No-Fee passport without being a U.S. Citizen. Military dependents that do not obtain the exemption vignette will obtain an open-ended stamp and must travel with their sponsors’ orders and/or approved command sponsorship application, along with their dependent ID card. Walk-in Hours
If members received an email from our office to pick up a passport, they may walk in during the hour’s operation Monday-Friday 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM. For all other services related to passports (including exemption vignettes, newborn packages) require an appointment.
When Official Passports are received by our office both UDM and Member are emailed to pick up their passport. Members will not need an appointment for passport pickups. Please feel free to pick up the passport/s / or documents during our hours of operation: Monday-Friday 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM. Closed all holidays/family days/goal days/training days.

Pin Reset, CAC Locked or Blocked
We are currently accepting walk-ins for members who need to reset their pin or have a locked/blocked CAC.
Military CAC
Services: Updates/Renewal/Lost/Stolen/Damaged
In order to be issued a new Military CAC, you will have to bring two forms of Identification.
Applicants are required to provide two forms of identity source documents in original form. The identity source documents must be bound to that applicant and shall be neither expired nor canceled. If the two identity source documents bear different names, evidence of a formal name change must be provided. (Marriage Certificate/Divorce Decree)

Renewal Military Dependent ID Card
In order for a family member to receive a Military ID the member must have an 1172 signed by the sponsor. The signature is only valid up to 90 days after the sponsor signs it. An 1172 can be obtained by the sponsor using this link or at a local military DEERS office.

In order to be issued a new Military ID, you will have to bring two forms of Identification.

In order to receive a Military ID the member must have a DD 1172 signed by their HR or TASM agency. The signature is only valid up to 90 days after the agency signs it. Entitlements and dependent information need to be included to show accurate information. Please also bring an employment authorization or employment verification letter signed by TASM or HR.

Adding a Dependent
Spouse:

Children will be only issued Military ID cards for the following reasons:
- With Mil to Mil parents, single (unwed) Parents
- Children 10 +; Children that look 10 +
Newborns:
- Should be enrolled into DEERS within 30 Days after birth
- Baby’s Birth Certificate (UK) or Consular Birth Abroad (CRBA)
- Bring the original Proof of Birth from the Hospital (Birth Certificate needs to be brought once received)
- Military to Military dependents or dependents with Single (unwed parents) will be issued a Miltary Dependent ID
- SSN card needs to be brought in once it has been obtained by a member for TRICARE enrollment

Please stop by customer support (DEERS) or the passport office Mon – Fri 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM. No appointment is required to turn in your official passport and a copy of your orders to be signed off vMPF. If you do not have an official passport you may scan and email your orders to the org box 100FSS.Passport@us.af.mil. Subject line “vMPF out processing – Retiring and/or Separating”. You will be signed off within 30 days of your final out.
Passport PCSing/Out-Processing
If you are PCSIng Stateside or OCONUS and you do not require a special issuance passport via PPC Code you will be signed off vMPF for passports automatically NLT 45-30 days prior to departure. No further action required.
