Outdoor takes reservations in advance for all scheduled adventure trips. Reservations cannot be accepted over the phone; they must be made in person and paid in full.

Outdoor Recreation (ODR) supports the Aviano Air Base community with several key services:

Equipment rental operation
In-house maintenance shop for ski, and snowboard
Retail sales operation for winter ski and snowboard equipment
Operation of the summer seasonal base swimming pool and oversight of the skate park located in Freedom Park
Execution of a wide variety of outdoor adventure programs and instructional classes
Information and referral program where customers can obtain hiking trail maps and local brochure information on relevant sites

Programs & Services

RecOn (R4R) Discounts

Recharge for Resiliency (R4R) is the capstone for resiliency programming across the Air Force for FSS MWR activities. R4R encompasses the following key resiliency target audiences: the Single Airman Programming Initiative (SAPI), RecOn, and Deployed Affected Programming (DAP).  These resiliency programs target specific audiences and provide needed support for our Airmen and their families. ODR operates using the ‘RecOn’ branch of the program.

RecOn

Provides resources for outdoor centric, high adrenaline, stress reduction and is only available through FSS Outdoor Recreation Centers.  You will see discounts applied to certain ODR trips throughout the year.

For example: Thanksgiving Ski and Snowboard $594 – Regular Price; $394 – RecOn Price

We always include the regular price of the trip for those participants who are not eligible for the RecOn discount.

Equipment Maintenance

ODR has qualified technicians on hand to do your equipment repairs. Let ODR be your place for all of your ski, and snowboard.

Ski and snowboard maintenance:

Wax – $10.00
Hand Wax – $20.00
Edge Sharpening – $5.00
Epoxy or P-Tex – $5.00-$20.00

All trips are catered to the season. We have trips year round.

Area D Reservations

Looking for a fun, outdoor location for your next event? Area D is available for your use! This area is the perfect location for birthday parties, showers, squadron morale events and more. Area D Pavilion & Lodge are available for rent for $70, and the Field can be rented for $30 ($100 to rent all spaces). Please stop by Outdoor Recreation to book your reservation.

Equipment Rental

Outdoor Recreation has a large verity of items available for you to rent. These items include inflatables, games, power equipment, ski & snowboard equipment, BBQ & camping equipment, water sport, costumes and much more.

Note: Ski or snowboard fittings will be started 30 minutes prior to facility closing
