History of PRAP
What Does PRAP Mean?
Personnel Reliability Assurance Program (PRAP) is a DoD program to select and maintain only reliable personnel to perform select duties associated under the surety program. Each designated member is comprised of being held to a higher standard when compared to other military personnel who do indirectly serves within the surety mission.
Since 2015, PRAP program has comprised of two elements: Personnel Reliability Program (PRP) and Arming and Use of Force (AUoF). The main goal is to ensure the program continues to derive the importance of safety, security, control, and effectiveness of US nuclear deterrence.

Self-Reporting PRAP Standard Requirements
PRP Personnel
PRP members are required to notify their certifying official or PRAP monitor immediately when they believe their not physically, emotionally, or mentally fit to perform PRP duties.
AUoF (3P0/3P1) Personnel
Security Forces personnel are required to notify their commander immediately when they believe they are not physically, emotionally, or mentally fit to bear arms. At any time, prior, during, or after performing armed duty, all Security Forces have an obligation to report mental, physical or emotional indicators of themselves or another Security Forces personnel that may cause a negative impact on people, resources or mission.

NOTE: If you have been seen off base by the ER or Urgent Care, book a follow up appointment with the PRAP Clinic to discuss your PRAP status. Bring all discharge paperwork with you on your follow up appointment so it can be translated and placed in your medical records.

- Send to Aviano PRAP Clinic via MHS Genesis Patient Portal https://my.mhsgenesis.health.mil/
- Inform your unit leadership or PRAP monitors when seen off base, your symptoms or condition, treatment side effects causing distraction, impairment or affecting sleep.

7 Reasons for Mandatory Decertification or Permanent Disqualification
Reason 1
An individual is diagnosed with alcohol use disorder, and subsequently fails or fails to participate in the prescribed rehabilitation program or treatment regimen.
Reason 5
Loss of confidence by the certifying official in the reliability in the individual.
Reason 2
An individual is found to be involved in the unauthorized trafficking, cultivation, processing, manufacturing, or sale of any controlled or illegal drug, including cannabis-based products.
Reason 6
Revocation of the individual’s security clearance
Reason 3
An individual is found to have ever used a drug that could cause flashbacks.
Reason 7
Drug test positive for illegal or unprescribed legal drugs with substantiated investigation.
Reason 4
An individual is diagnosed with a severe substance use disorder. For the purposes of this instruction, alcohol related disorders are defined separately from other substance use disorders.
