Welcome to the Big Sky Country! Malmstrom is located in open terrain surrounded by the Highwoods and the Little Belt range of the Rockies and close to the Missouri River. Plan your trip to take advantage of the many beautiful and scenic areas Montana has to offer and enjoy your stay at Malmstrom Air Force Base FamCamps.
Located 2.5 hours from the Canada border, Glacier National Park, and Yellowstone National Parks, Malmstrom FamCamps are a great gateway to your next adventure.
Gateway FamCamp is located just outside the main gate, and provides restrooms, hot showers, coin laundry facilities on site, with convenient access to a full range of support facilities on base.
Annex FamCamp is on base and provides restrooms on site and shower access at the nearby Fitness Center.
Both FamCamps are managed by Malmstrom Outdoor Recreation and fully operational May 1st – September 30th. During the winter Months (October – April) access to full hookups may no longer available. Guests have access to power only sites.
Campground is for authorized users only! This includes Active Duty, National Guard, Reservists, Retired Military, 0-100% DAV, Purple Heart Recipients, Former POW, Veteran Caregivers, DoD Civilians.

Booking and Cancellation Policy
- First day payment is due at time of reservation.
- First day payment is NON-Refundable.
- The Outdoor Recreation staff assigns sites.
- Guests may request specific sites, but requests are not guaranteed and are subject to change until date of arrival.
- Reservations can be made for a maximum of 21 nights.
- Maximum stay is a total of 180 nights during a 365-day period.
- Cancellations must be confirmed via email.
- Cancellations at least 48 hours before check-in date will receive a full refund minus first day payment.
- Cancellations made within 48 hours will receive a 50% refund minus first day payment.
- No shows and cancellations made on check-in day will not be refunded. Reservations will be canceled if you arrive later than 1 day without calling.
- There will be no refund for early departures.

- Water is available if warmer than 32 degrees. All campers must be unhooked from water and sewer if below freezing.

Malmstrom FamCamp Rules
The rules and policies of the Malmstrom AFB FAMCAMP are in place for the protection of guests, personnel, and property.
Any guest violating these rules and policies may be asked to vacate the property at the discretion of camp personnel. Violating policies may result in a fine.
All guests are at the courtesy and discretion of the 341 FSS Commander.
Guest stays may not exceed 180 days in a calendar year without a waiver signed by their commander.
Fire Policy
- Open campfires are permitted under direct adult supervision and contained in a fully contained fire pit. Fires are not permitted during Burn Bans. Guests may be asked to extinguish fires at the discretion of camp personnel.
- Outside cooking is restricted to propane and/or charcoal grills.
- Please do not throw hot coals in trash receptacles or on grassy areas.
Speed Limit
- THE SPEED LIMIT is 5 MPH. Ensure all drivers within your party understand the speed limit rules.
- DO NOT park on grass.
Parking
- Only 1 RV and tow vehicle permitted per site. Parking is in designated areas only. Please do not park on grass.
- All vehicles must show proof of current registration, license tags, and insurance. Unlicensed vehicles not permitted.
Quiet Hours
- Quiet hours are from 2200 to 0700 hours. Generators may not operate during that time.
Smoking Policy
- Air Force rules restrict smoking to designated areas only. Smoking is NOT permitted in any building owned by the Air Force.
Vehicle Maintenance
- No RV/vehicle repairs, maintenance, or washing in FamCamp areas

Dumping
- A dump station is provided for guests. Under no circumstances will gray water be dumped on the ground in any FAMCAMP area or any place on Malmstrom AFB.
Storage
- FamCamp may not be used as a storage facility. Extra recreational vehicles including boats, ATV’s, trailers, etc. must be stored at the Malmstrom Air Force Base Storage Lot.
Pets
Pets are welcome and must be always kept under control and on a leash.
- Pets may not be outside unaccompanied or tied to picnic tables.
- Pet waste must be picked up by the owner promptly.
- Proof of pet vaccination required.
- Loud or unruly pets not allowed.
Trash
Please leave site clean and free of debris before departing. Put trash in appropriate containers.
Firearm Policy
- Firearms may not be discharged within the FAMCAMP. Firearms must be properly secured and adhere to Air Force Policies. Malmstrom Privately Owned Firearms (POFs) policy
