Auto Hobby Center

The Auto Hobby Center is the place for vehicle do-it-yourselfers. With seven stalls available, you’re welcome to attend the FREE safety class, and after that, to make repairs on your vehicle, or stop by for the Auto Hobby’s first come, first served tire and oil change services.

Help the Environment

The Auto Hobby Center offers car battery, car oil/oil filter and tire recycling services for FREE! No appointment is necessary to drop off recycling items.

Swap & Store

It’s time to roll the windows down and enjoy the roads! Swap your tires out for a summer set starting Thursday, April 15. The Auto Hobby Center will mount your summer set and store winter tires in a dry and clean area until the snow nears again.

Swap & Store Basic

Take off the wheels and tires already on the car and put on seasonal wheels and tires. No mounting or balancing included.

OV Rental Van Pricing

All rental vans are equipped with traction control and brand new snow tires. Travel to areas from Hokkaido to Sasebo in a van of your choice.
Pet-friendly van’s are available!

All vans have a $50 cleaning fee. Pet-friendly vans have an ADDITIONAL $50 cleaning fee. ($100 total for pet van)

Welding Bay Rentals

Experienced welders who have been signed off on equipment knowledge and operation can rent the bays by the hour, per availability. Novice welders can take our Learn to Weld course to gain bay access. We have welding slots available! If you already signed up, please come in and pay to get set up for classes.

Mig Welder/Plasma Cutter / $25 per hour

Tig Welder/Plasma Cutter / $30 per hour

Staff Welding Services / $30 per hour

Learn to Weld

Our skilled instructors will provide guidance for safety musts and step-by-step welding basics. Welding will be added to your safety card after completion.

Students must sign up for the blocks in order. Upon sign-up, students schedule class times and pay for the class and all materials, including welding filler rods and coupons (materials to weld on).

Five students maximum are permitted in each class. Ages 16 and over only; 16–17 year olds must be accompanied by an adult guardian.

$30 per hour

Welding classes are broken down by blocks:

  • Block 1 is welding basics, safety and proper use of personal protective equipment. (1 hour)
  • Block 2 is basics and application of plasma cutting and MIG welding. (3 hours)
  • Block 3 is basics of carbon/stainless steel TIG welding. (3 hours)
  • Block 4 is basics of aluminum TIG welding. (3 hours)

Steel/aluminum filler rods and coupons (practice pieces of steel/aluminum) are required for welding blocks. These materials are purchased when you register.
