It’s the longest day of the the year in the northern hemisphere!
OK, so today has the same number of hours, but there are now more hours of daylight compared to hours of darkness than any other day of the year.
From now on until the winter solstice (the shortest day of the year), daylight hours will get shorter and nights will come sooner, so make the most of the summer sun and light evenings.
If you go to Svalbard, Norway, the northernmost inhabited region of Europe, there is no sunset from approximately 19 April to 23 August, so there’s another couple of months to go until night time!
