Returning Home Care
Open to Active Duty, Air National Guard or Air Force Reserve
Eligible personnel can get 16 hours of FREE child care for each child under 12 years of age after a 30 day minimum deployment in support of a contingency operation, after short-term deployments totaling 30 days in a six month period, or during members’ two week R&R leave from a deployed location.
Extended Duty Care
This program offers additional child care services when they are needed due to mission-related responsibilities.
You may be eligible if you are required to work beyond the 40 hour work week and are already purchasing 50 hours of child care. At least one parent must be a member of the U.S. military service, Active Duty, Reserve or Guard Member on Active Duty, dual employed (married to a civilian), DoD civilian employee or DoD contractor.
Interested parents must contact the FCC Coordinator for information on qualifications and required paperwork. Parents must provide written verification of need from their supervisors. Fees are waived until further notice.
PCS & Volunteer Care
The Air Force Aid Society recognizes the importance of volunteers to the Air Force community and will pay up to $280 a month per family for child care. All Air Force spouses who volunteer at official organizations in Misawa are eligible.
Additionally, all Air Force personnel that PCS in or out of Misawa are eligible for 20 hours of FREE child care per child within 60 days of their arrival or departure. Members need to take a copy of their orders to the Airman & Family Readiness Center for their FREE childcare certificate. For more information regarding these two programs, please contact the A&FRC
*PCS and volunteer care are provided within a licensed FCC home.
About Us
Yoiko Child Development Center
The CDC offers full day and hourly care for children ages six weeks to five years old that have not yet started Kindergarten. We require written guidance from a physician, therapist, or other appropriate health care professionals.
Family Child Care
This program provides care for children ages two weeks to twelve years old in on-base housing. All FCC providers are licensed child care professionals. Licensed FCC providers are the only people on base who may provide care in government quarters for more than 10 hours per week on a regular basis.
Cheli School Age Care
Open to children from Kindergarten to sixth grade. Cheli SAC is open for full time care during school breaks.
Lunney Youth Center
We provide a safe, fun, and educational after school environment for children ages nine through thirteen. Annual memberships are available to for children which includes FREE access to multiple, daily Boys and Girls Clubs of America and 4–H sponsored programs and clubs. After the first visit, memberships are required for children to attend the center.
Misawa Teen Center
We provide teens a fun, safe, and interactive after school environment for youth ages thirteen through eighteen. Annual memberships are available and include FREE access to daily Boys and Girls Clubs of America and 4–H Clubs, specials events, and trips. After the first visit, memberships are required to attend the center to play video games, shoot pool, do homework, and much more.
