The Fish Bowl

The Fish Bowl can accommodate up to 16 people and features a service counter, small refrigerator, TV, DVD player and picnic tables. Rental includes use of the party room for two or three hours depending on time and day of reservation.

You may call to check availability, however you will need to make reservations in person at Outdoor Recreation.

Swim Lessons

Outdoor Recreation is excited to offer swim lessons 4 times a year for our Misawa Air Base community! All swim lesson registration is completed online only. If you are unable to enroll in the class you wanted please add yourself to the wait list. We will do our best to adjust accordingly and accomodate your needs.

Private Swim Lessons (All AGES)

Individuals in Preschool and Learn-to-Swim level 2 and up must visit the Himberg pool during business hours to be evaluated BEFORE making payment.

2. Select a Class to Register: All Individuals in Preschool and Learn-to-Swim level 2 and up are required to have a current and completed Swim Evaluation at time of payment.

3. Fill Out Registration Form: Forms must be completed for one child at a time.

4. Make On-Time Payment: Visit Outdoor Rec. (BLDG. 486) by Noon on Friday, Jan. 10 to make your full payment.

Swim lessons are first come, first serve. Upon registering you will receive an email confirmation of the document you submitted. You will also receive a reminder to pay for your class by Friday, Jan. 10. If payment is not received by the payment deadline, your spot will be forfeited, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Participants must be registered by their legal parent/guardian.

Rules & Policies

Age & Supervision Requirements

  • All children ages 10 and under must be supervised by an adult at all times.
  • Children unable to stand in the water must be within arm’s length of an adult at all times.
  • Children ages 12 and under must pass the PACAF Deep Water Test and possess a current PACAF Deep Water Access Card to use the deep end of the pool.
  • Children ages 13 and older (and children ages 11 or 12 with a valid PACAF Deep Water Access Card) may remain at the facility unattended.

Pool Rules

  • No diving into shallow water.
  • Parents are responsible for watching their young children at all times.
  • No breath-holding or prolonged underwater swimming.
  • Do not enter the pool if there is no lifeguard on duty.
  • Shower before entering the pool.
  • Flotation devices are limited to USGC-approved personal flotation devices only.
  • No personal water or pool toys allowed. (Toys allowed during Family Fun Night and our Monthly Pool Party)
  • Glass lens diving masks may be used only by lap swimmers and during scuba training activities.
  • No food, drinks or glass containers allowed in the pool area.
  • No running on the pool deck.
  • Lap lanes are for lap swimmers only.
  • Children who are not toilet trained must wear tight-fitting swim diapers.
  • Individuals with obvious evidence of a cold, flu or other communicable disease including open sores, lesions and fungal skin infections are prohibited from entering the pool.
  • Violations will result in suspension of pool use.

PT Reservations

To make a reservation for Physical Training (PT), stop by Himberg pool or call 226.7665. Reservations are available during the designated times above for up to 60 minutes per lane. Reservations can be made up to 14 days in advance. When not reserved, lap swim lanes are available on a first come, first serve basis.

Reservations are for group activities only, not individual fitness training. Please reach out to Outdoor Recreation for reservations outside of regular pool hours.
