The Air Force Voluntary Education Program supports Force Development by maintaining a highly educated force. The program supports off-duty voluntary education goals for active duty Air Force and Air National Guard in the National Capital Region (NCR), to include tuition assistance, Montgomery GI Bill/Post 9-11, Community College of the Air Force (CCAF), SkillBridge, Accessing Higher Education, General Education Mobile, Air University Associates to Bachelors Cooperative, and Scholarships.
The Military Testing Office administers the following exams: Air Force Officer Qualifying Test, Air Force Reading Abilities Test, Electronic Data Processing Test, Oral Proficiency Interviews for languages, Defense Language Proficient Test, Defense Language Aptitude Battery, Armed Forces Classification Test, Test for Basic Aviation Skills, Enlisted Pilot Qualification Test, Tailored Adaptive Personality Assessment System, Weighted Airmen Promotion, and the Manpower Test Battery.
The Formal Training Office provides TDY to School notifications.
The Base Training Office ensures all airmen assigned to the NCR successfully progress in upgrade and qualification training.

The Air Force Virtual Education Center (AFVEC) offers a wide array of on-line services to empower you to actively participate in all aspects of your education to include the creation and management of funding requests. Career Assistance Advisor (CAA)
The Career Assistance Advisor (CAA) acts as the principal advisor to commanders and supervisors on retention issues. The CAA program is designed to assist supervisors when talking to subordinates about the benefits of an Air Force career. The CAA assists commanders and supervisors in career counseling and conducts advertising and publicity programs. The CAA also advises separating enlisted personnel on Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard program benefits and opportunities, advises on career progression and planning, monitors mandatory pay and benefits briefing programs, manages Air Force retention programs, and provides reports and statistics to help commanders assess retention trends. Enlisted enhancement courses are conducted for SNCOs, NCOs and Airman and Right Decision briefings for first-and second-term Airmen.

Testing
The Military Testing Office conducts Airman promotion testing, foreign language proficiency and other military testing.
Visit Defense Language Institute for language testing preparation resources.
DLPT/DLAB testing is done on Tuesday/Wednesday at 0730 and 1100.
Test of Basic Aviation Skills (TBAS), Electronic Data Processing Test (EDPT), Air Force Officer Qualification Test (eAFOQT), Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI), Air Force Classification Test (AFCT), MyLearning exams are administered by appointment only.
Weighted Airman Promotion Tests – eligible airmen are notified and scheduled accordingly. Test cycles are: E6 – 15 Feb – 15 Mar, E5 1 May – 15 Jun
Base Training
Base training serves as the OPR for the supervision of all training programs for personnel assigned to the Pentagon, identifies and coordinates training sources, and assists with developing training plans, schedules, documentation and evaluation procedures to support unit operations and CFETP requirements. Base training provides guidance to commanders and Unit Training Managers on CDC and AFSC related matters, assists in identifying annual training requirements and conducts Staff Assistance Visits.

Formal Training
Formal training is the OPR for all TDY-to-school matters, processes orders and training allocations for all military and civilian personnel, coordinates and approves all civilian training requirements, functions as the primary POC for all PME for officers and enlisted members, and updates training certificates for civilian and military members.

National Test Center
All CLEP and DSST test titles are available. NTC testing services are available to those with current base access. This includes active-duty service members, military retirees, spouses, and civilian employees of the military. See appointment availability below.

- All active duty to include AFR on Title 10 orders can apply for tuition assistance for one AAS, BS, MS, and certifications with AFCOOL. Applications are submitted inside of AFVEC and cap out at $250 per SH/$4500 per FY.

Enlisted Professional Military Education
If your EPME completion is not showing in your records, and you completed the course more than 30 days ago, you must send your completion certificate to AFPC through MyPers (see directions listed below). SEJPME updates can be submitted to the Formal Training Office. Certificates are the ONLY acceptable source documents and must be submitted by the student.
Click here or go to the AF Portal and select MyPers. Follow the instructions below:
- Use CAC login
- Left Column, Scroll down to “MY ACCOUNT”
- Select Incidents/Message
- Select “Email us” in the right-hand corner
- Component: Active Duty AF
- Category: Benefit and Entitlements
- Subject: Request EPME course update
- Question: Request my PME course be updated. Please see attached certificate.
- Browse and attach the certificate
- Once your record is updated to show course completion, it will show immediately in vMPF; however, it may take up to 4–6 weeks for it to reflect in the Assignment Management System (AMS) SURF, which is not the system of record and for the member’s informational purposes only.
