Military Leave Program

Annual Leave Program. Annual leave programs give members the opportunity to take leave within the constraints of operational requirements. Unit commanders establish these programs to encourage the use of leave for the maximum benefit of the member. Scheduling leave prevents loss of leave at fiscal year-end balancing, retirement, or separation from active duty. Both management and members share responsibility in managing leave balances throughout the fiscal year.

Newcomer Treatment and Orientation program (INTRO)

Sponsors are the backbone of the program and provide a valuable service to inbound Airmen. For many newcomers, a sponsor adds that personal touch. A sponsor is assigned by a newcomer’s gaining unit and helps the newcomer before, during and after a move.

Overall, the Sponsors aim to do the following:

  • Provide newcomers with a sense of belonging
  • Ease the transition for inbound service members or civilians and their family members
  • Increase productivity of service members and loved ones
  • Help newcomers make informed decisions
  • Cultivate new friendships
  • Improve morale
