Sponsored by University of Maryland Global Campus, the National Testing Center administers electronic testing for the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), Prometric’s DSST Examination Program (formerly known as DANTES Subject Standardized Tests), and many Pearson VUE certification and licensure tests.
Most exams provide the score reports immediately after you complete your exam. All CLEP and DSST test titles are available. NTC testing services are available to those with current base access. This includes active-duty service members, military retirees, spouses, and civilian employees of the military.
CLEP & DSST (College Course Equivalency Tests):
Held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays with a limited testing schedule. All exams are by appointment only and scheduled via our online calendar. The calendar opens new appointments about 30 days in advance. Due to limited testing times, seats availability, and the demand for testing, many dates may be filled. But keep checking the scheduling link for availability as new openings and cancellations appear. If dates are available, they will show up on the calendar for you to select and create your appointment. You will then be sent a confirmation email with detailed exam requirements. If the calendar shows no availability, then the testing session is filled.

DSST Principles of Public Speaking:
By appointment. Email your request to ntc@umgc.edu. Eligible service members may have their CLEP and DSST exam fees funded by the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES). The JBA National Testing Center remains open upon appointment for CLEP/DSST exams. However, you can also take a CLEP/DSST exam at home with remote proctoring. Remote proctoring allows students to take an exam online while a human proctor monitors them via video.

Currently, DSST Remote Proctoring is only available to eligible DANTES funded military service members and excludes the Principles of Public Speaking exam.
Visit prometric.com/test-takers/search/dantes review the ProProctor User Guide, confirm that your network and computer will allow testing through ProProctor, click on “Schedule” and follow the prompts.
