Barksdale Community Headquarters
BUFF Community Center is the community’s go-to venue for anything from training and life skills classes to official military functions, or even a fun Friday night Louisiana fais do-do. Our programming is designed to meet the needs of our military families in areas such as personal and professional development, life skills and family, the performing arts, and recreation and leisure. Our goal is to enhance your quality of life. Whether you are organizing an event or program, or are just wanting to enjoy one of our programs, we have a spot for you.
Personal & Professional Development Programs
Putting on a workshop or program? We offer and host a variety of personal, cultural and professional development programs. The goal is to encourage Team Barksdale families to develop individual interests and competencies, to develop a positive self-image, to learn about and participate in the democratic process, to respect their own and others’ cultural identities, and to enhance their skills.
Family & Life Skills
BUFF Community Center hosts and offers a variety of events and programs designed to help total force Airmen with engaging in positive behaviors, sustaining relationships, setting goals, and bettering their quality of life through improved adult life skills.
Performing Arts
Performing arts activities enable patrons develop creative and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of music, theater, film, and video production. BUFF Event Center supports the performing arts by regularly hosting Air Force Entertainment programs, movie nights and other programs. Watch for upcoming events.
Recreation & Leisure
Part of being in Louisiana is developing a joie de vivre or appreciation and joy of life. Let’s face it, assignments are what you make of them and Louisiana is fun! Our recreation and leisure programs are sure to keep you smiling and make your years at Barksdale memorable. We offer a free E-Gaming center inside BUFF Event Center and host lots of events and tournaments. Guests enjoy free wifi and can shoot darts, watch tv’s or play some ping pong.
We also offer meeting spaces for eligible groups and offer food service and catering. Our iconic base programs like Oktoberfest, the Barksdale Tree Lighting or our Easter breakfast & Egg Drop are certain to make your Barksdale highlight reel. Use your intellect and skill in these fun, clue driven competitions for prizes over multiple weeks, featuring puzzle solving, who dunnit, lazer tag and lots of great prizes.
Trivia Nights
Bring your friends, show off your brain or set the curve but you’re sure to have fun while you compete for prizes
Food & Beverage
We have a Food & Beverage program, embedded in our Community Center to satisfy Barksdale’s appetites. Our Brew 52 at the DePyssler Mission Support Group Building features “Starbucks- We proudly serve” coffees and breakfast foods. The Source is the flightline’s hot food and snack shop. Hangar 2 Lounge is located just inside the base’s North Gate and is an all ranks lounge with a large outdoor patio and fun programming.
Catering
BUFF Community Center offers full service catering. Our spacious facility offers a number of meeting spaces to accommodate programs, conferences and events of just about any size. Our large ballroom features a stage and can host groups up to and in excess of 300 guests. We offer multiple rooms that are more intimate for smaller to medium size gatherings. Our event professionals can expertly assist you with planning every detail of your next event. Whether it’s a few hours or a week-long event, we can work with you on catering and all of the specifics that will make your event a huge success and a memory maker for your guests.
