Fireworks, barbeques, and pool parties, oh my! The 4th of July is full of family fun and traditions wherever you may be. Columbus, Mississippi, and the surrounding areas have tons of entertainment and activities lined up this year to celebrate!
1. FIREWORKS ON THE WATER

Fireworks on the Water is a beloved patriotic event in Columbus! It has returned for 2023 and will be bigger and better than ever! In addition to an incredible 4th of July fireworks show and flyover, this event will also feature live performances by America’s Got Talent’s Chapel Hart, Honeyboy & Boots, and Mississippi State Singers! Bring your lawn chairs and blankets.
2. ALL AMERICAN FESTIVAL & FIREWORKS SHOW

Celebrate 4th of July weekend at the All-American Festival and Fireworks Show. They will have artisan crafts, food, fireworks, and vendors. Additionally, they will have live music on Friday featuring Jeffery Rupp and an Eagles Tribute Band and also on Saturday featuring Honeyboy and Boots, G-Funk, Full Circle, and Jason Miller Band. 3. HALOS 4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS
Tuesday, July 4, from 1800-2200

Check out the annual Halos July 4th fireworks show at the walking track in Millport, AL, 40 minutes from base on the MS/AL border. The show will be held on July 4th with activities starting at 1800. Winwheel Band will be the featured entertainment, kicking off at 1900. Then, fireworks will begin following their final song around 2100. There will be a kid’s area with jumpers and a water slide as well as several food vendors, go come hungry and enjoy!
4. GRILL UP SOMETHING SPECIAL FROM THE COMMISSARY
There’s nothing better than heating up the BBQ on a long holiday weekend! The Commissary always has an amazing variety of high-quality steaks, ribs, and burgers, as well as all the fixings to satisfy your holiday weekend needs. Don’t have your own grill? The base has charcoal grills available for use at Freedom Park and SAC Lake.
5. MAKE A SPLASH AT INDEPENDENCE POOL
Independence Pool is open and ready to roll all 4th of July weekend. Not only are the waterslides and diving boards ready to go, but the snack shack is selling popsicles, ice cream, refreshments, and more! Picnic tables are set up outside to enjoy a picnic lunch before cooling off at the pool!
