Arts & Crafts And The Printshop New Combined Location

January 24, 2024

The 14th Force Support Squadron is excited to announce the Arts & Crafts Center has moved to Blaze Commons (Building 715) and now share space with The PrintShop and FSS Marketing.

The Commons is also home to the Coffee House on 5th; Information, Tickets & Travel (ITT) office; the Library; and Unite Program office.

The quick turn relocation project, initiated to accommodate the Air Force’s new STEM program, Star Base, has been in the works since September 2023. Both departments are excited to work side-by-side to create a more efficient one stop location for a variety of services. It will bring productivity and positive energy to the work environment to meet the needs of the base community. The move has brought collaboration from all parties. Arts & Crafts Manager, Abby Jenkins, along with support from team member Tonia Thomas, have been working hard to evaluate the new smaller workspace to utilize current equipment as well as potential new equipment to maximize productivity and continue to deliver high-quality products and services.

Arts & Crafts Center and The PrintShop are two great resources on base. They can help bring your gift ideas to life or help you create that unique gift for family and friends. Personalization always adds a special touch and thoughtfulness to a gift. Arts & Crafts offers custom engraving and framing while The PrintShop offers large format printing for cockpit posters, manual copies and binding, and laminating. Arts & Crafts also hosts base events such as paint & sip nights, craft workshops, and art classes.

In addition, the FSS Marketing staff will occupy one end of the workspace. FSS Marketing is responsible for promoting all FSS events and activities. They use a variety of
methods such as ColumbusAFBLiving.com, social media, banners, roadside signs, digital displays, monthly WHAC! Magazine, and much more in order to make each event successful.

Arts & Crafts, The PrintShop, and Marketing, are a natural fit. Many of their services overlap and, being in the same room will enhance
collaboration.
