The Holiday Season is the most magical time of the year and Columbus Air Force Base is ready to celebrate! CAFB is looking forward to providing holiday cheer throughout December which will include activities and events for all ages.
BREAKFAST WITH SANTA
The festivities begin with Breakfast With Santa and His Elves on December 2 from 1000-1300. This FREE event will be held at the Event Center where there will be a breakfast buffet, bouncy castles, carriage rides, and of course, photos with Santa. It will also feature a Holiday Bazaar with area vendors and artisans selling specialty items such as jewelry, artwork, home décor, handmade gifts, and much more.
WINTER FASHION SHOW
Following Breakfast with Santa, get in the holiday spirit with the Winter Fashion Show on December 2 at 1300 @ Your CAFB Library in the Blaze Commons. This children’s fashion show will showcase yuletide trends and timeless classics that will leave you inspired and full of ideas for dressing your children for all your Christmas events. ANNUAL CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING
The Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the CAFB Chapel will take place on December 6 with activities starting at 1600. It will be a fun evening as they light up the tree for the season.
Schedule of Events:
1600-1715: Pictures with Santa at Base Ops
1715-1730: Santa goes to the Chapel in a fire truck
1730: Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Chapel. Music and free refreshments will be served beforehand.
Afterwards, at 1800 there will be a faith-based Christmas pageant in the Chapel, and at 1900 14FSS will be showing the Polar Express movie at the Kaye.
HOLIDAY WREATH CLASS
On December 7 from 1730-2023 the Arts & Crafts Center will host a Holiday Wreath Class at the Event Center! Food and drinks are included as well as the wreaths and all materials. Sign up by calling Abby at (662) 434-7856 by December 5 to sign up!
WINTER RECITAL
On Friday, December 8 at 1800, Bethany Raley, the dance instructor at the Youth Center, will be hosting its Winter Recital, a dance and tumbling showcase. This event will be held at the Kaye Auditorium. The children will be able to take part in a fun dance and tumbling experience and show off all they learned in their Dance with Bethany classes!
TEEN GRINCHMAS PARTY
The Youth Center will host a Teen Grinchmas Party on December 8 from 1900-2300 for ages 13-18. The cost is $20 per teen and will include dinner and snacks. JINGLE BELL JOG
Dust off your jingle bells, ugly sweaters, and holiday costumes for the annual Jingle Bell Jog 5K Fun Run on December 9 at 0900, presented by the CAFB Fitness Center. The 5K starts at the Alpha Warrior Tent and all are welcome to walk or run! Medals will be awarded to Male and Female categories for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place. Feel free to wear your favorite Holiday Costume or participate in the Ugly Sweater Contest which will have 3 winners! Sign up TODAY!
