Rockin’ The Block Party Brings Fun For Base Community

May 26, 2022

The Rockin’ The Block party was held on 29 April at the Venture 360 outdoor activity center. The event was organized to celebrate and wrap-up the Month of the Military Child. Families from all over Columbus Air Force Base came together to enjoy a variety of activities. Civil Engineering and the Fire Department brought several vehicles to give children the “touch-a-truck” experience. A bunch of inflatable jumpers and games were available that also provided a fun activity.

The event was organized by School Liaison Office director, Joni Nally. She was very excited to see the very nice turnout and the beautiful weather.

“I was hopeful we would have a good turnout and everyone would enjoy the various activities we had planned,” said Nally. “The weather was perfect and it was great to see the base leadership here to show support and have some free pizza, funnel cakes, and drinks provided by FSS.”

Mississippi DJ, MSgt Charles Akujobi, had his music playlist running. There was free pizza and funnel cakes available provided by the 14th Force Support Squadron.
