CAFB Fitness Center Holds Triathlon

Columbus AFB, Miss. — The Columbus Air Force Base Fitness Center hosted its annual Triathlon on Saturday, 10 September. There were 20 participants in this year’s race representing 3 age categories. Base leadership were among the participants and spectators. With rain in the forecast, the status of the race was uncertain. However, the rain moved away and left a pleasant temperature that was perfect for the grueling competition.

The race kicked-off at Independence Pool with a 16 lap swim followed by a bike trek that went halfway around perimeter road. The bikers ended up back in the event center parking lot where the hit the street running.
