The Columbus Air Force Base Event Center or Columbus Club continue to host many base functions. From Wing luncheons to the Base Community Council dinners, the Event Center provides first-class food and dining services.

Joe Garza took over as the Event Center Manager in December of last year and is doing a fantastic job meeting the needs of the patrons. Prior to managing the Event Center, he spent time in the Resource Management Office, and before that, he was the Bowling Center Manager.

The Event Center also is host to graduation dinners, special events like Breakfast with Santa, family fun days, Spring Fling Easter Egg Hunt, and many other FSS and Wing events.

The Overrun Lounge, located in the Event Center, continues to grow more and more popular. The Overrun Lounge has two new bartenders eager and ready to serve up amazing drinks and make Overrun a popular hangout spot once again! Currently, the Overrun Lounge is open Friday nights from 1600-2000. Serving a full selection of beverages as well as popular food items on the menu including chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, french fries, and their famous cajun fries.

Independence Pool is also located at the Event Center. Opening day is Friday, 26 May in time to jump-start Memorial Day weekend! Lap swim times will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 0600-0900 and open swim will be Monday, Wednesday-Friday 1200-1900, Saturday-Sunday, 1100-1900, and closed on Tuesdays.
