1. Summer Camp at the Youth Center
The Youth Center is putting on week-long camps this summer with different unique topics from June to July 26. Camp experiences such as Cooking, Fishing, Volunteering, Sewing, and more are all on the calendar! There are opportunities for ages 5-18 and something to fit everyone’s interests! 2. Summer Reading Program at the Library
Your Library has an amazing lineup of activities for June! From storytimes and craft days to summer reading programs and make-your-own smash journals- there are so many ways to keep those brains working this summer! “Find Your Voice” is this summer’s theme for the Summer Reading Program. Youth and Adults are invited to sign up and start logging their reading! Participants will be able to enter a weekly prize drawing and attend a special Capstone event held on July 21 to celebrate all of the amazing summer readers! 3. Independence Pool Open Swim and Lessons
The Independence Pool is open for the summer for open swimming Monday, Wednesday – Friday: 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday: 11:00 pm – 7:00 pm, and the snack shack is stocked with a variety of different snacks and drinks for sale. 4. Beat the Mississippi Heat at Strikezone
Summers in Mississippi can be rough and there is no better way to escape the hot sun than at Columbus AFB Strikezone Bowling Center. The best part is, “Kids Bowl Free” this summer through August 1st! 5. Make A Splash With Outdoor Rec
Outdoor Recreation has added two brand new giant waterslide inflatable jumpers to its arsenal. With daily, weekend, or weekly rates, you can make a splash right in your backyard for birthdays, summer parties, or just for a weekend of fun! Outdoor Rec also offers a wide range of water sports equipment ranging from kayaks to paddleboards to canoes or even pontoon boats!
