Dobbins Air Reserve Base was chosen to receive 300 Christmas trees from Trees for Troops, a national nonprofit that funds and organizes the distribution of free Christmas trees to those who serve. Georgia Power served as a sponsor by generously providing 100 of the trees distributed.
Servicemembers from all branches of service at Dobbins were thrilled to receive a free tree and tree stand during the December UTA weekend. Thank you to Trees for Troops and Georgia Power for spreading holiday cheer at Dobbins.
Cadets from Marietta High School’s AFJROTC program played an integral part in this event by loading the trees for each recipient. Col. Carl Magnusson, 94th Airlift Wing Commander, stopped by to thank the cadets for their hard work and also talk with these students about Dobbins Air Reserve Base.
