Edwards AFB Youth Center
The Main Youth Center is located at Building 5210, 24 Lathrop Drive and offers a wide range of programs and events for youth ages 9-12. This is the Open Recreation Program and Clubs. The Main Youth Center is also the hub for all Edwards AFB Youth Sports and Instructional Classes such as Dance and Gymnastics.

Open Recreation Programs And Clubs
The Open Recreation Program provides after school activities for children ages 9 to 12. On non-school days, after school and during the summer there is limited care. Call 275-KIDS for club, activity and programming hours. We offer programs, clubs and activities for youth 9-12 years old like: Pre-Teen Dances, Talent Shows, Youth Fitness, STEM, Robotics, Cooking, Life Skills, Boys and Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), Power Hour and Project Learn (homework help), Torch Club (leadership and service club), BGCA Fine Arts Exhibit Program (artistic expression club), Image Makers (photography club), and 4-H (Head, Heart, Hands, and Health youth development program). The Main Youth Center also has various activity rooms, an indoor gym and basketball court and playground area.
Open Recreation is located within the Youth Center, located near Sonic Splash Pool, FamCamp, and High Desert Lanes Bowling Center & Snack Bar. Open recreation is available for youth ages 9-12.
Open Recreation Memberships are available and offers transportation for before and after school to the MJUSD’s Branch Elementary School on base.
Registration is completed within the Child and Youth Program Billing Management System (CYPBMS). Please contact the Youth Center during office hours to be sent a link to create a profile in CYPBMS with instructions on requirements before attending Open Recreation.
The Youth Center serves as the hub for Edwards Youth Sports and Instructional Classes, and Instruction Classes such as Dance and Gymnastics.
Youth Programs empower youth to find their voice and their passion to make a difference in their community and the world through opportunities for planning, decision-making, advocacy while becoming responsible, caring citizens and acquiring skills to participate in the democratic process. The Arts, Sports, and Recreation, Health and Wellness, and Education are specified areas within the programming offered.
All additional programs and event registration is within CYPBMS.
Edwards School of Muisc
Edwards School fo Music lessons are conducted within the Teen Center during the school year, and within the Youth Center in the summer months.
Youth Sponsorship Program
So you’re moving! Are you nervous? Scared? Excited? Would you like to get to know someone your age, with similar interests at your new base? A youth sponsor can provide you with info about schools, shopping, and culture & maybe even become your bestie!
Would you like a sponsor? The Youth Sponsorship Program is a way to connect with youth and teens at Edwards.
Fill out the Youth Sponsorship request form and our Youth Programs and/or School Liaison will match you up according to gender, age/grade, and interests/hobbies.
