Do you struggle when it comes to basic car maintenance? You’re not alone — and Eglin’s Auto Hobby Shop is here to help! The shop’s “Know Your Ride” personalized car-care clinics offer knowledgeable instruction from a professional mechanic, as well as practical and hands-on learning using your own vehicle.

Complete a general safety inspection as you learn to identify different auto parts and systems, check and fill fluids, check and adjust tire pressure, and much more. Then perform a complete oil change on your vehicle (customer must provide oil and filter*), and you’ll be feeling like a DIY mechanic in no time!

Sessions are offered one-on-one and available by appointment only. No walk-ins, please!
Cost is $45 for the “BASIC” class
Cost is $100 for the “+PLUS” class, which includes Brake Inspection and Tire Rotation
R4R**-elibible personnel pay only $5 for the “BASIC” class or $10 for the “+PLUS” class
Participants should wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get dirty.

**R4R (Recharge for Resiliency) eligibility is exclusive to U.S. Active Duty & Reserve personnel assigned to Eglin and their family members. R4R is the capstone for resiliency programming across the Air Force and Space Force. R4R provides resources that foster unit cohesion, culture, mission, and a sense of community among Airmen/Guardians and their families.
