About Us
The Military & Family Readiness Center (M&FRC) supports individuals, families, and leadership with programs and services to strengthen communities, encourage self-sufficiency, enhance mission readiness and ease adaptation to the military way of life.
At the M&FRC we are available to serve DoD Total Force service members, DoD civilians, retirees, and eligible family members. Whether you need financial education, help to prepare for a newborn, spouse-oriented programs, or need help with casualty benefits, we at the M&FRC are available to assist you.
Each staff member can provide services in the center or through outreach in your unit. We look forward to serving you soon.
Programs & Services
Personal Financial Readiness Program
PFR offers information on investments, budget/checkbook maintenance, saving, debt/credit management, and retirement preparation for those desiring to meet financial obligations and goals. We offer personal financial counseling sessions and education seminars to give you the tools to meet those financial obligations and goals set.
Key Spouse Program
The Department of the Air Force Key Spouse Program is a commander’s program to enhance unit family readiness. The role of the Key Spouse is designated to enhance mission readiness and resilience and establish a sense of community, promotes partnerships with unit leadership, families, volunteer Key Spouses, M&FRC, and other installation community agencies.
Employment Assistance Program
Provides individual assessment, assistance with resume and job search for military members, families and Department of Defense civilian members. We can also provide information about interstate licensing.
Military & Family Life Counselor
Provides non-medical short-term, situational problem-solving counseling to all branches of the military and their families. Completely confidential and private, except for duty-to-warn situations. Services can be provided on or off military installations. The counselor cannot meet you at your home or your car. Services are provided to individuals, couples, and families. They are mandated reporters of child abuse, domestic abuse, and other duty-to-warn situations.
Casualty Assistance Representative
The Air Force provides casualty assistance to family members and other designated beneficiaries of deceased members. Assistance includes counseling on rights, benefits and entitlements; completing claim applications for monetary benefits and privileges; and helping to resolve any problems or concerns the next-of-kin may encounter.
Transistion Assistance Program (TAP)
This workshop is a partnership betweens the Department of Labor, Department of Veterans Affairs, and Department of Defense. Topics include assessing job skills, job search, resume building, cover letters, interview skills, VA benefits, and job market information. Spouses are welcome to join this program.
Exceptional Family Member Program
The EFMP-Family Support (EFMP-FS) Coordinator serves as the installation’s Point of Contact for all EFMP matters and is housed at the Military & Family Readiness Center. The EFMP-FS coordinator ensures each family receives comprehensive coordinated family support through the military and/or civilian community.
Support Services
Assists with coordination of family support services on and off the installation to EFMs who have physical, developmental, emotional, social or intellectual impairments/disabilities.
The EFMP-FS often coordinates family camps and/or activities introducing families to new interventions and opportunities to learn. Activities normally provide an environment filled with entertainment for the entire family
Resource Navigation
Navigates key local, state and federal resources available to EFMs. Develops and maintains a comprehensive resource directory with descriptive information about the agencies and organizations. Resources may include various Parent Training and Information (PTI) centers, no-fee community case management agencies, intervention services, U.S. Department of Education information, Specialized Training of Military Parents (STOMP), etc.
Deployed Support
Enhances support and outreach to spouses of deployed members with special needs family members. Will often collaborate efforts with the M&FRC Readiness NCO to host combined family centered activities for deployed and EFMP families.
Personal & Work Life Program
Personal and Work-Life Consultant provides assessment, intervention, referral, enrichment, and skill-building to assist Service Members and their families. The activities are educational in nature, offered in group or individual settings. Topics can include interpersonal communication skills, relationship building, marriage preparation, positive parenting, time management, and team building.
Heart Link
Military Heart Link orientation is a program designed for those who are newly married or just interested in learning more about military life. Our goal is to strengthen military families and enhance mission readiness by increasing spouse awareness of the Air Force mission customs, traditions, protocol, as well as available services. Information is given about community resources, TRICARE, deployments, and more.
Relocation Assistance
The Relocation Assistance mission is to eliminate the stress associated with frequent moves by providing moving assistance planning, inbound and outbound relocation services and on-going relocation workshops.
Pioneer Start
The newcomers’ orientation, known as Pioneer Start, includes presentations from base agencies and is scheduled each month at the Yukon Club. After the briefing, an Information Fair is held in the Ballroom for newbies to gather information about services on base and learn about other resources available in the local area.
Orientation is MANDATORY for all active-duty personnel. Spouses of active duty personnel and DoD civilian employees are highly encouraged to attend.

Sponsorship Training
The M&FRC Relocation Program is here to support Sponsors and Command Support Staff who are charged with managing and monitoring the unit level Sponsorship Program. The first step to becoming a successful Sponsor is taking the eSponsorship Application & Training (eSAT). This Department of Defense training is mandated for all new Sponsors and Sponsors who have not taken the eSAT training within the year prior to a new Sponsorship assignment. Training certificates must be submitted to your unit Command Support Staff for unit Sponsorship Program record keeping. In addition to offering the Sponsorship training, this website provides Sponsors with information on the MilitaryInstallations and Plan My Move websites. It also provides a sample welcome letter, a Sponsorship duty checklist, and a Newcomer and Family needs assessment, which should be tailored to fit the needs of the inbound member and their Family.
Loan Locker
The Loan Closet supports military and civilian personnel during PCS moves. The loan closet has basic household items and car seats for short-term use.

Who We Are
The Air Force Aid Society (AFAS) is the official charity of the U.S. Air Force and has been meeting the unique needs of Airmen and their families since 1942. AFAS’s mission is to support Airmen and enhance the Air Force mission by relieving emergency financial distress, helping Airmen and their families achieve their educational goals, and improving their quality of life through proactive community programs.
Emergency Assistance
Emergencies can cause a financial burden on families when they arise. AFAS provides no-interest loans and grants to help Air Force families meet immediate needs and make a positive step toward a lasting financial solution. Assistance can be provided on a case-by-case basis with situations, such as (but not limited to):
- Basic Living Expenses (Food, Rent, Utilities)
- Emergency Travel
- Vehicle Expenses
- Funeral Expenses
- Medical/Dental
- Child Care/Respite
- Moving Expenses

Child Care Programs
Child Care for PCS
Helps relieve some of the stress felt by families during a PCS move. AFAS pays for up to 20 hours of child care per child in certified Family Child Care homes within 60 days of departure and/or 60 days of arrival at a new base. Open to all ranks if childcare is available.
Child Care for Volunteers
Air Force spouses who volunteer at on-base facilities (such as the pharmacy, tax office, legal office, M&FRC, and Airman’s Attic) in order to learn job skills are eligible for FREE childcare.
Give Parents A Break
Offers eligible active duty Air Force parents a few hours break from the stresses of parenting by provides funding child care for active duty Air Force families.
