Operating Practices

The Auto Hobby Shop is not to be confused with repair shops operated as revenue-producing activities by AAFES.

Use of shop equipment is by authorized shop personnel and trained customers only. All users must know how to safely operate equipment, what hazards exist, and what protective equipment they need and how to use it. In order to work in the shop, you must first get certification or recertification if needed. Certification is needed to understand shop policies and demonstrate safe operation of equipment. Please call 801.777.3476 for more information.

Please Note: Certification is valid for one year and generally takes 20 to 30 minutes to complete. Tire change qualification may take up to one hour.

The Auto Hobby Shop offers State of Utah Emission and Safety Inspections for vehicles under 7800lbs. Please call Monday-Saturday 0800-1500 for an appointment. There is also an early bird drop off if needed. Patrons are required to bring their vehicle registration. Please call the Auto Shop at 801.777.3476 for more details.
