We offer a wide range of recreational equipment for a small service charge to all active duty military, retired military, reservists, civilian employees, and family members 18 years of age or older. Campers and camping equipment, picnic gear, sporting equipment, outdoor games, bicycles and other recreational supplies are available for rent. FamCamp is a great place to reduce the high cost of vacations, weekend excursions, PCS moves, TDY and leave travel. The whole family can enjoy the benefits of travel, sight-seeing, and outdoor recreation while keeping expenses to a minimum. Joint Base Charleston offers three convienient locations to hang your hat: Air Base, Weapons Station and Short Stay Recreation Area.

LIBERTY/ SAI trips and tours happen on the weekends and can include outdoor adventures such as; skydiving, jet skiing, fishing, kayaking, biking, hiking, white water rafting, camping, and more. These programs are designed to encourage you to get out of the barracks/dorms and experience some amazing recreation.

If you intend to hunt or fish on the Weapons Station, South Carolina state hunting/fishing licenses and Weapons Station permits are required and are now available for purchase at your Outdoor Adventure Center. Please allow 1-2 weeks for processing form 74. Once approved, you will receive a phone call from the Outdoor Adventure Staff. SCDNR licenses, hunters education course and approved firearm registration are required to purchase base permits.

The Marrington trails constitute the best multi-use trail system in the lower part of the state. The clearly marked red loop currently traverses 13 miles of pine and hardwood forests.

Outdoor enthusiasts without JB Charleston base access must fill out the form below to obtain a pass to hike. Once completed, take the form, a REAL ID, and $10 cash to OAC in Goose Creek (NWS). Processing takes 3-4 days. Your base pass will be good for 6 months.

If you are looking to reserve our picnic grounds or pavillion for your next event, we can help you. The park is available for use by authorized users and guests from sunrise to 10pm. Download the form and take it to ORC so you have the location set for your selected date!
