Artists may enter up to two (2) high resolution images of artwork in both competitions (2D & 3D).

2D Art is two-dimensional drawing, sketch, or painting.

3D Art is three-dimensional sculpture, ceramic, pottery, clay, glass art, metals, jewelry, wood, fiber, or textile.

Accepted media include oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, mixed media, gouache, egg tempera, pen and ink, charcoal, colored pencil, scratch board, markers, and metal point (no digital art).

By submitting an entry, entrants guarantee an original product, created solely by them and not based on any published material or other’s work. Submission must not violate any rights of third parties.

The artwork must not have previously won any competition of any kind.

For artwork based on reference photographs, eligibility requires the artist to have taken the photos or obtained written permission from the photographer.

Compositions based on published material or other artists’ work are NOT considered original and are not eligible.

Artwork must not…

1. Be obscene or libelous
2. Contain defamatory or derogatory remarks
3. Use inappropriate language or slang
4. Violate any rights of any third parties
5. Contain wording, letters, or numbers

Submissions violating these guidelines will be disqualified from the competition.

Caption must be complete, accurate and convey the circumstances of the artwork’s production. Misrepresenting the content’s origin will lead to disqualification.

By entering this contest, entrants grant AFSVC the right to use the artworks for web, broadcast, print reproduction, advertising, and publicity on social and digital content. AFSVC may modify images to fit specific media.

If any person in the artwork is under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign each release.

Eligible to DOD ID Card Holders. FSS personnel may enter the contest, but are not eligible to win prizes.

Entrants in Adult Novice and Accomplished categories must be 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.

Entrants in Youth categories must meet the following age requirements:
Child: Ages 6 to 8
Preteen: Ages 9 to 12
Teen: Ages 13-17

Entries in Youth categories must be submitted on behalf of the photographer by a legal parent or guardian.

Prizes will be awarded to eligible participants.

Failure to meet eligibility or submission requirements will result in the submission being deemed ineligible.

Photos are eligible in one category only. Submitting the same photo in multiple categories is not permitted.
