Ever wonder why people work and do what they do? How would you value having a job you love? Join as we discuss careers and our passions. We will have weekly meetings covering topics such as: What’s the difference between a job and a career? How is the world of work organized? What are potential careers? Summer is a great time to make new friends. Did you know that 21 June is National Selfie Day? In recognition of new friends, summer time, and National Selfie Day, youth will practice their photography skills this month.

Specialty AF Camp: Chef K

Our multi-day camps offer knowledge, fun, and hands-on adventure as participants build upon new culinary skills and techniques. Registration is a must, and youth need to attend all week. Spaces are limited! Ages 9 and up only.

STEAM: 4H Building Bird Houses

Having birds in your garden brings beauty, not to mention the sounds of birds. If you want to keep the birds coming back, one good way is to provide them with a birdhouse. It’s even more fulfilling when you make the birdhouse yourself.

4H Healthy Living: Yoga

4-H Yoga is like yoga for adults but sillier! Practicing yoga with kids should be different from yoga practice with adults in that, instead of being quiet and calm, it should be noisy and fun, helps improve flexibility, balance, and strength, all while being noncompetitive and inexpensive. Some studies have even suggested that practicing yoga can improve a child’s attention, relationships, self-esteem, and listening skills.

Roller King is Albuquerque, New Mexico’s premiere destination for fun and, most importantly, roller skating! Youth may bring money for snacks. Registration is required, and spaces are limited.

STEAM: Wooden Planter Containers

Free for members · $2.50 for non-members · Ages 9-18
Youth will become architects and engineers as they design and build their own DIY wood planter boxes. Once their build is done, they now can add paint and designs to the box.

STEM & 4 Healthy Living: Sugar Stack Experiment

Youth will explore how much sugar is in many of their favorite things to eat or drink. Would you eat a stack of 16 sugar cubes? A label may tell you there are 39 grams of sugar in your soda, but what does that much sugar look like? Youth will explore how much sugar is in each item while creating sugar cube stacks. We will discuss healthier options and how much sugar their bodies should have daily.

This camp will explore the fundamentals of Flag Football. Youth will learn passing, receiving, kicking, and flag-pulling skills. Participants will gain confidence and learn important life lessons in a fun, positive environment. Registration is required, and spaces are limited.

STEM Challenges: Cup Stacks

Free for members · $2.50 for non-members · Ages 9-18
Teamwork is a must! In these challenges, youth practice working collaboratively and communicating productively in a team. There’s also some science involved in your stacks.

4H Crafting: Wood Burning

Youth may free-draw their design, use stencils, or copy a pattern. Learn ideas and techniques on how to easily create beautiful art pieces and gifts using a wood burner.

It’s National Bingo Day! Bingo is a game of chance using cards on which there is a grid of numbers, a row of which constitutes a win when they have been chosen at random. You’ll want to play this with as there may be prizes!

Instant Pot Mac and Cheese – This macaroni and cheese is every family’s favorite comfort food pasta recipe made easy in the Instant Pot! You can have creamy, mouthwatering, homemade mac and cheese for dinner in about 10 minutes!
