Education & Training

At the Kunsan AB Education Center, we offer opportunities to help you along your career paths such as basic skills education testing, college prep, assistance with financial aid, and tuition. We also act as an official DANTES testing site for the SAT, ACT, GRE, and GED. Many of our services are also available to spouses of active-duty personnel. We have professional guidance counselors who will help guide active duty, dependents, and DoD civilian employees on a customized education path to meet your personal and professional goals.

University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC): https://www.asia.umgc.edu/
Under PACOM contract, the University of Maryland, Global Campus (UMGC), Asian Division, has an office on Kunsan, which is located in the education center. UMGC offers both traditional classroom and online classes. Onsite course offerings are geared to those members needing to satisfy any remaining Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) requirements. UMGC provides 90+ Certificate and Degree Programs (onsite and online) as well as host country language courses.

National Testing Center (NTC)

The NTC is located in Building 1104 and is operated by UMGC. The NTC offers CLEP, DSST, Pearson VUE, and placement tests as well as third-party proctoring for college exams. The first attempt at any one of these subject tests taken for college credit is at no cost to active duty members.

Study guides for tests can be found at the base library or visit the AF Virtual Education Center (AFVEC), select the “Information” dropdown, and then click the “study guides” link under the information column.

Updating your records:
Make sure you keep your education records up to date. Start by ensuring your personal information, and supervisor information, is correct in AFVEC: Log into AFVEC and select Personal Data from the right-hand column and make any necessary updates. Next, select the “Supervisor” link (also in the right-hand column) and make any necessary updates.

To update your Military Record with your completed degree, please submit an official transcript showing the degree conferred to the education center. An official transcript must be sealed and marked as “official” by the school. The official transcript can be sent to the Education Center Org Box: 8fss.fsde.educationservices@us.af.mil
