The Child Development Center (CDC), located on the base in El Segundo, opened its doors to the Los Angeles AFB Community in November 2004. This state-of-the-art facility boasts a contemporary and spacious environment that is applauded by base leadership, employees, and customers. Its program is certified annually by the Department of Defense and is currently accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the national organization which identifies child care programs of high quality that offer developmentally appropriate care in a safe, healthy and nurturing environment.
Full Day Care Program
“The CDC offers full-day childcare to military and DoD civilian children ages six weeks to five years old. The goal of the CDC is to provide a safe environment, enriching experiences and attentive care for children at an affordable price. Fees are calculated on a fee schedule based on total family income and guidance from the Department of Defense. There is a current waiting list for childcare in the CDC and inbound families may place their children on the waiting list by visiting MilitaryChildCare.com prior to arrival. Childcare will be offered based on priority
