TAP 3-day Curriculum
This is a cooperative effort between the Department of Defense (DOD), the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and the Department of Labor (DOL). You must complete IC/PreSep before being able to register for this class.
Mandatory For All
Three curriculums are covered on the DOD Day: Managing Your (MY) Transition, MOC Crosswalk, and Financial Planning. MacDill AFB also invites TRICARE at the end of the day.
Managing Your Transition Participant Guide
The preparation for transition occurs at various touch points of your military career as part of the Military Life Cycle (MLC) career preparation—a transition model that provides the opportunity to align your military career with your civilian goals.
MOC Crosswalk Participant Guide
The purpose of this module is to identify skills, experience, credentials, and education obtained in the military and help you align them with civilian opportunities. If you already know your future career or you’re planning to go to college, this will serve to ensure you have knowledge of any new skills you have developed. Additionally, this module will help you to identify if there are any certifications, licenses, or credentials that would be helpful as you move into the civilian sector. The Career Readiness Standard (CRS) for MOC Crosswalk is a Gap Analysis. The content of this course will assist with completing this CRS and with identifying any gaps in knowledge, education, skills, or credentials in your chosen career field.
Financial Planning Participant Guide
This transition module is designed to help you understand your current financial situation by using what you have learned from previous financial readiness courses that you have attended throughout your military life cycle. The knowledge from those courses and the content covered in the Financial Planning for Transition will enable you to complete the career readiness standard associated with this module.

Has Some Exceptions
Curriculum consists of foundational employment skills, knowledge, and tools. Resume writing, salary negotiating, and interviewing is taught in the accompanying 2-Day Employment Track.
Exemption Categories
- Retiring with 20+ years
- Can provide proof (e.g., a hire letter) of full-time post-military employment
- Can provide proof of acceptance to full-time college
