Located outside of Augusta, Patrol Mountain is one hike that you are unlikely to do alone. It is a steep difficult hike perfect for anyone looking for a workout before hunting season. The first couple of miles start out gradual working slowly uphill towards the summit. The last 2 miles gain roughly 2,500 feet in elevation.
The fire lookout on top makes for a great lunch spot while admiring your effort and views of the Rocky Mountain Front and Bob Marshall Wilderness areas before the steep decent back to the trail head.
