Idaho Is More Than Just Potatoes!
Nestled in the “Gem State” of Idaho, Mountain Home Air Force Base (AFB) is not only home to the firepower of more than 50 F-15E Strike Eagle aircraft but also plays host to the Republic of Singapore Air Force’s F-15SG planes.
Our diverse community includes approximately 5,100 dedicated military and civilian members, along with 3,500 family members, all contributing to our mission and calling this high desert semi-arid oasis surrounded by mountains their home.
Idaho’s unique geography and geology make it a state of natural wonders, boasting more soakable hot springs than any other in the U.S. And of course, we can’t forget the pride of Idaho – potatoes. We lead the nation in potato production, responsible for nearly one-third of all U.S. potatoes.
Beyond our gates, Mountain Home’s ideal location offers access to remarkable attractions, from Hells Canyon, North America’s deepest river gorge, to Shoshone Falls, known as the “Niagara of the West.” With its four seasons, this area is a haven for year-round activities such as whitewater rafting, skiing, kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking, swimming, and so much more.
The Force Support Squadron at Mountain Home Air Force Base is the heartbeat of our community. Committed to enhancing the quality of life for our military members and their families, our squadron offers a wide range of programs and services. From providing exceptional recreational facilities to organizing exciting events and family support services, we aim to foster a sense of belonging and well-being within our Air Force family.
Whether you’re looking for fitness opportunities, childcare services, or simply seeking to connect with fellow service members, our dedicated team is here to support you every step of the way. We take pride in serving those who serve our nation, and we look forward to assisting you in making your time at Mountain Home AFB a fulfilling and memorable experience.
