Airman Leadership School

The Gunfighter ALS prepares Senior Airmen to be professional, war-fighting Airmen and Guardians who can supervise and lead Air Force and Space Force work teams to support the employment of air, space and cyberspace power. The ALS team works closely with personnel in leadership positions to provide numerous mentoring opportunities for Airmen and Guardians attending the course.

Airman Leadership School encompasses 24 Days of Training, making it a Total of 5 Weeks.

The Curriculum is standardized across the Air Force, it focuses on four areas:

  • Air Force Culture
  • Leadership
  • Mission
  • Problem Solving

The course includes a series of lectures, open discussions, homework, exercises, writing and briefing performance tasks.

Knowledge on these four areas will be reviewed through an end-of- course Capstone.

Graduation depends on a student’s ability to meet the minimum academic and performance standards established by the Barnes Center for Enlisted Education and the Schoolhouse.
