Our mission at the Pope Army Airfield Professional Development Center is to empower Team Pope with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to excel as professionals and leaders in service to our nation. Through a commitment to excellence, collaboration, and innovation, we provide comprehensive professional development programs that enhance individual and organizational performance, support career growth, and foster a culture of continuous learning. Development Advisor

The primary advisor to enlisted supervisors in regards to all career matters with a special emphasis on retention, retraining, and professional enhancement opportunities within our Air Force. advises group/squadron commanders, group/squadron superintendents, and First Sergeants on career progression and motivational programs which include but are not limited to the following:

First Term Airmen Center

Provides a structured program to transition Airmen from a training mindset to a mission-oriented environment. FTAC provides orientation-type information and reinforces lessons learned in Basic Military Training and technical training to aid in a successful transition. It offers a unique opportunity to create an environment for Airmen to develop their warrior ethos further. All FTA must attend within 45 days of arrival on station.

Informed Decision

Provides monthly briefings for career information to first and second-term Airmen within 12-15 months of their date of separation so they can decide to re-enlist or separate. The provided information is designed to help them choose the life path, whether military or civilian, that’s right for them. Topics involved include educational benefits, transition programs, and AF Reserve/ANG opportunities.

JEPE

The Junior Enlisted Professional Enhancement (JEPE) Course is designed to build upon knowledge gained from FTAC and introduce followership developmental tools for professional and personal growth. The target audience for this course is AB-SrA, who have not been to Airman Leadership School.

NCOPE

Noncommissioned Officer Professional Enhancement (NCOPE) Course is designed to build upon knowledge from ancillary training, PME, and job experience. The target audience for this course is NCOs who have not attended PME within the last three years, and it focuses on reinforcing supervisory skills and responsibilities.

SNCOPE

The Senior Noncommissioned Officer Professional Enhancement (SNCOPE) Course is designed to build upon knowledge from ancillary training, PME, managerial experience, and NCO Academy. The target audience for this course is newly selected master sergeants with an in-depth view of their increased leadership responsibilities.
