Family Camp Ground

The Scott AFB Fam Camp is located at the Scott Lake Recreation area (base access needed), nestled among the trees providing lots of shade in the summer, and looking over the two base fishing lakes. The Fam Camp has 22 RV campsites, each with water and electric hookups. Restrooms, showers, laundry, and a sewage dump station are available to use.

Cost per night for RV’s campers using a space is $25. Rustic tent camping is allowed anywhere around the lake area (except in the pavilion areas) at a cost of $10 per night, per tent. A dry-camp overflow area is also available at $10 per night; max capacity 2 campers, first come first served.

AF campgrounds were developed for, and should be managed to support, recreational camping purposes and not for a patron to use as a place of business or residence.

Campsites

Each site is allowed only one camping unit and one towing vehicle. All structures other than those which are standard for the RV must be be approved by the ODR director. Please keep mats off the grass and no vehicle parking on grass between campsites. Individual clothes drying lines are prohibited in all campground areas.

Quiet Hours

10 p.m. to 7 a.m. are the camp’s quiet hours. Generators must not be operated at night.

Pets

We welcome your family pets, but they must be on a leash or inside the trailer at all times. A physical leash is required which will cause a restraint. Please clean up after your pet and put them inside at night. Do not leave unattended. NO FENCES OF ANY KIND ARE ALLOWED. Pets are not allowed in the restrooms or the laundry. Pets must be current with all shots and licenses. No more than four (4) four-legged pets are allowed by a Fam Camp/primitive camping customer at any given time while registered at the campground.

Reservations

Reservations can be made up to 30 days in advance. Full payment is required to complete your reservation. Reservations may be made via phone at this time.

Customers will be required to provide the following information to complete their reservation:

Military Status (i.e. Active Duty, Retired, DoD Civilian)
Rank, Unit & Duty Station
Purpose of Stay
Make and Model of camper
License Plate, Expiration Date and State of Registration of camper
List any pets that will be present during stay

Cancellations

Any cancellations or modifications to your reservation must be made 48 hours or more before the start of your reservation period. Cancellations or modifications made inside the 48 hour window are not eligible for reimbursement. Cancellation due to military commitment will be refunded 100%; you must show memorandum or proof of orders.

One night forms and drop box is currently available on Bulletin Board at the entrance to FamCamp. No parking on grass, additional parking may be available near Bathhouse. Fires allowed only in Grill Grates, do not build fire rings. Base Fishing Permit required for Scott Lakes, purchase from ODR during business hours. Illinois State Permit not required.

For environmental reasons, no mechanical maintenance (including oil changes) or significant repair work may be performed, and recreational vehicles may not be washed in the recreational vehicle camp.

All individuals must have valid DoD card to utilize any service or facility offered by Outdoor Recreation.
